Our current pandemic has placed extraordinary demands on all of us.  We are uncertain about what will happen.  We know things will change and that we will change.  The scale of this pandemic is monumental.  Nearly everyone around the globe has been impacted.  These are events that are beyond our control and because they are out of our direct control, there is anxiety and fear that comes and goes in waves.   

The question is:  How can we manage our uncertainty and fear so we control it and it does not control us?  
When we manage our own fears, we become absolutely UNSTOPPABLE!

Lesson 1:

Introduction to the Session

Today, we are living in uncertainty.  Changes occur quickly, and at times suddenly.  We see it.  We feel it.  We know it.  It comes in waves.  It's like being at the ocean when the sea is troubled and the waves come upon you fast with the next following before you have the ability to recover from the first.  You plant your feet in the sand to steady yourself for the next wave. Some of those waves come so fast there is no time or energy to recover.  You feel anxious and fearful.  We can become victims of this fear, or we can manage it.  This training was designed to give you an understanding of what causes fear, how you can confront seemingly impossible challenges, and strategies you can use to overcome fear.
These are strategies I have used with cancer patients and in my own life when I was given a bleak diagnosis for my son.  You can manage fear, OVERCOME it and become UNSTOPPABLE.

  • Why we experience fear in the face of uncertainty.
  • Discover how to confront seemingly impossible challenges.
  • How to re-focus your mind and develop mindsets that so you can shape your experience in an empowering way.
  • ​Strategies for overcoming fear.
  • To develop an action plan that will take you from fearful to unstoppable.

Lesson 2:

Understanding Why We Have Fear

As human beings we have basic needs.  Tony Robbins tells us that irrespective of culture or continent, these basic human needs are basic to everyone.  That is why we are experiencing a universal, global response to fear during this pandemic. Our basic human needs are challenged.

5 Things to do When Confronting a Seemingly Impossible Challenges

If o be human is to be challenged, how do we confront and overcome life's challenges?  First, become aware of your feelings.  Second, reflect on what is happening.  What is the worst case scenario?  What are the facts (truth)?  Third, sort facts from fiction and re-train the brain.  Fourth, breathe and re-build.  Fifth, be bold and move forward even in the face of uncertainty.

Lesson 4:

What You Focus On Shapes Your Experience

If the messages that enter your brain are negative and fearful messages, your emotions are filled with anxiety and depression.  During uncertain times, there is a lot of fear.  Some of what happens is negative and very painful.  If we focus on these difficult emotions and experiences, our brains naturally look to find 
evidence to support that mindset or view, resulting in more fear and depression.
Learn to re-shape the messages your brain processes so you re-shape your experience

You will learn:
  • How to sort truth from fiction so you can develop clarity about what is happening, gain momentum and become courageous. 
  • Visualize a future that you are excited to create.
  • Take action and move forward, ready to contribute to those around you and in your community.

Lesson 5:

Strategies For Dealing With Fear

We become unstoppable when we hunger to serve something greater than ourselves.  What strategies can we use to do that?  First, reflect on which of the six basic human needs you focus upon.  Second, examine what are you reflecting on?  Third, what stories are you telling yourself about what is happening?  Fourth, ask yourself, what do you want your experience to be?  Fifth, identify your life's purpose and meaning.  Are you living it?  Sixth, find someone you can help today.

Wrap-up

Take time now to identify your biggest aha moments from this training.  What do you want to do differently?  How do you want to re-focus?  How can you transform your experience by simply transforming your vocabulary?  List specific actions you will take.
